  • Make sure the facility, equipment and clinical environment are ready to support safe, efficient surgical care
  • Maintain clear team communication, assess patient progress and respond promptly to changes or complications, keeping patient safety central to every decision
  • Give patients clear education, guidance and reassurance so they feel confident managing their recovery after discharge
  • Supervise and support colleagues on shift, building confidence, teamwork and safe practice
  • Promote continuous improvement, safety and excellence across the hospital

What You Will Bring

  • Solid experience in Vitreo-Retinal Ophthalmology scrub scout nursing within a surgical hospital setting
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered or Enrolled Nurse
  • The ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with patients, doctors, colleagues and other stakeholders
  • Strong time management, organisational, leadership and communication skills
  • Full Australian working rights

Why You Will Want to Know More

  • A dedicated ophthalmic service, with Vitreo-Retinal lists at the centre of the role
  • Predictable rosters with minimal to no weekend shifts
  • Five weeks of annual leave
  • Up to three weeks off over the festive season during the hospital’s extended closure
  • Gym discounts through Fitness Passport, and free, confidential counselling through the Employee Assistance Program
