Position overview:
We are seeking a confident and adaptable casual Practice Nurse to provide annual and sick leave cover within a small, busy general practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys autonomy and flexibility.
As the sole nurse on shift, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of high-quality patient care, working closely with the General Practitioner and administrative staff to support the day-to-day needs of the practice. Build strong therapeutic relationships with patients and whānau and lead health promotion and primary care initiatives within a close-knit community setting.
To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of two years’ experience working in general practice, strong clinical skills, and a genuine commitment to patient-centred care.
Essential skills and experience:
- Current APC with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
- Minimum of two years’ experience in general practice settings
- Current Authorised Vaccinators Certificate (essential)
- Cervical Smear Certification (preferred)
- Competent using Indici (PMS)
- Excellent clinical reasoning and time management skills
