  • Learner and whānau Engagement: Build strong, culturally responsive partnerships with tamariki and whānau to ensure their voices, identity, and aspirations guide learning support decisions.
  • Teacher capability and support: Collaborate with classroom teachers to interpret assessment data, co-design support plans, and enhance inclusive teaching practices across everyday routines.
  • Coordination of supports: Initiate requests for specialist support (MoE, RTLB, health services) and oversee in‑school allocation and guidance for teacher aides.
  • Transitions: Plan and facilitate smooth, predictable transitions for learners entering school or moving between educational levels.
  • Leadership and strategic alignment: Work with school leadership to contribute data‑informed insights, align targeted/tailored interventions, and champion inclusive education grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Current NZ teacher registration and a full practicing certificate.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and working with learners who have diverse learning, behavioral, or wellbeing needs.

Key skills and attributes

  • Strong relational and communication skills with the ability to influence and coach adults effectively.
  • Commitment to bicultural practice and giving practical effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
